John C. Thomas has served as Director of Public Relations at East-West University since 2004, and previously held communications positions at the Chicago Area Transportation Study and the Metropolitan Planning Council.  He is also Acting Director of the South Loop Historical Society and Vice Chair of the Board of Trustees of the Bloomington-Normal Public Transit System.   He has completed the coursework for a Master’s in Urban Planning and Public Policy at the University of Illinois at Chicago, and holds a B.A. in Communication from Loyola University Chicago.  From 1979 to 1991, he was an announcer, producer, and writer at several major radio stations in Los Angeles, Chicago, Washington, D.C., and Seattle.
