Major Field Assessment Tests for Bachelor Degrees Class of 2014
Major Field Assessment Tests for the class of 2014 will be held in the Spring quarter. Graduates should contact their department chairs to receive study guides for the tests. New this year: students graduating with Associates in Liberal Arts will take a Major Field Assessment Test, which will replace General Education Assessment Test.

MFAT Who has to take it?
All students must take the Major Fields Assessment Test to graduate with a bachelor’s degree. See your Program Director for details.
AA in Liberal Arts Who has to take it?
Students pursuing an associate’s degree in English, Biology/Physical Sciences, BHS, and Math must take the exam. ALL OTHER ASSOCIATE DEGREE SEEKING STUDENTS DO NOT HAVE TO TAKE THE EXAM.
When is it offered?
The test is offered once per year. The next date is Saturday, May 17th from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. in the East Building Fourth Floor Auditorium. Students need to arrive at 8:30 AM.
How can I get ready?
AA in Liberal Arts: See Dr. Gorman (room W 409 or Dr. Stevenson E410) for study materials the week of March 24th. Copies will also be available in the math and writing centers the week of March 24th.
What if I don’t pass?
If you do not achieve the cutoff score for the AA exam you will have to take a makeup to be administered Friday, June 6th at 10:00 am. There is a fee of $75 for this makeup.
