Program Requirements

Entry into the Honors Program is based either on a composite score of high school GPA times ten plus ACT score (adding up to at least 50), OR your East-West cumulative GPA within your freshman year (3.25 or above).  In addition to satisfying one of these requirements, you must also interview with the Coordinator of the Honors Program before being admitted into the program.  For more information, please go to the “About the Program” section or contact the coordinator of the program.

Once admitted into the program students must maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.25 or better.  Any honors student that falls below 3.25 will have one quarter to bring their GPA back up; failure to do so will result in dismissal from the program.

To complete the Honors Program at East-West University a student must take a minimum of nine honors courses, including at least three “Major Honors Courses”.  These special sections are designated with an ‘H’ in the course offering and also on all transcripts.  Below is a list of the Honors courses and when they will be offered (excluding the “Major Honors Courses” which will be determined individually by the student and their advisor).  Additionally, students in the program are expected to participate in the extracurricular activities associated with the Honors Program.
